MARKETS

Markets (mercados) are a common sight in towns and villages throughout the Costa del Sol. They are an essential part of local life, largely unaffected by competition from supermarkets and hypermarkets. They are colourful, noisy and entertaining and an experience not to be missed, whether you plan to buy anything or not.

Following is a schedule of some of the weekly street markets that take place in the towns close to Corasol:

Monday

  • Marbella - Recinto Ferial (Fairground Site) La Albarizes on the east side of town.

Tuesday

  • Manilva - Castillo de la Duquesa

Wednesday

  • Estepona - Calle Carmen Laforet off Avenida Puerto del Mar.

Thursday

  • San Pedro de Alcantara - by sports pavilion.

Friday

  • Manilva - near the football ground
  • Casares - Calle de la Carrera

Saturday

  • Marbella - Ecological Market, Parque de la Alameda, 1st Saturday of the month (Morning)

shopping

  • La Cañada Shopping centre in Marbella is the largest shopping centre on the Costa del Sol. Home to over 280 shops and over 40 restaurants, La Cañada caters to everyone's personal shopping needs. Situated on the Marbella bypass, this vast establishment cannot be missed. Offering free, ample parking (> 5000 parkings spots) as well as regular buses and two taxi ranks, La Cañada makes shopping less stressful and more rewarding.

  • McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Malaga is the first designer outlet in southern Spain. In its more than 17,000 m2, the centre offers its customers the finest selection of national and international premium and luxury brands, including fashion, sportswear, homeware or beauty products, among others. Customers can enjoy savings of up to 70% off all year round.

  • The Plaza Mayor Shopping Mall (situated just next to McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Malaga) offers a wide range of fashion, leisure, and dining options, all in a glorious open-air setting reminiscent of a traditional Andalusian village. It has a large number of restaurants, outdoor terraces, clothing and accessories shops, cinema, and a supermarket.
